After a turbulent start, Mistress of Mayfair has firmly established itself as both a fantastic dining destination and a standout venue for upcoming, as well as established, house DJs.

The move away from a French-led menu to one with a stronger Mediterranean influence has marked a noticeable shift in demand for dinner reservations. The new offering feels fresh, satisfying and varied, signalling a clearer culinary identity and a better understanding of its audience.

The true highlight, however, is the party that follows.

Thursday nights, in particular, have been redefined by Mistress. An exceptionally strong house DJ rota, paired with a notably pleasant and well-curated crowd, has made it one of the most exciting midweek spots in London. While the party continues on Fridays and Saturdays, Thursday is undeniably its forte.

Expect lengthy queues for some of Europe’s hottest DJs, before entering a space that feels like a restaurant first and a club second. That said, the venue proves remarkably versatile. With its increasingly popular “breakfast parties” stretching into the early hours, revellers seem to agree — this is a space that knows how to hold a party.

The combination of atmospheric lighting and smooth red velvet interiors leaves the room glimmering long into the night. The transition from dining room to dancefloor is seamless and almost unsuspecting — something other venues attempting a similar hybrid model would do well to study.

Importantly, the cocktail menu remains impressive and extensive throughout the night. In contrast to many clubs that abandon crafted cocktails in favour of simple spirit-and-mixer options, Mistress maintains its standard, a small but telling detail that enhances the overall experience.

It’s clear the team behind Mistress has listened carefully following its uneasy beginnings and adapted accordingly. Each new hire appears to strengthen their vision, refining both service and atmosphere. One can confidently say they are now on the right track to securing their place as a true staple in London nightlife.
